Full Time Courses
The International Wing Chun Academy pioneered vocational education in the Australian martial arts industry.
The Academy’s two-year Advanced Certificate in Wing Chun, accredited by the New South Wales Vocational Education Training Advisory Board in 1989, was also the first course anywhere to raise martial arts to the tertiary level.
It was designed by the Academy’s Founder and Principal Instructor, Grandmaster Jim Fung, and attracted worldwide interest among martial arts and sports enthusiasts due to his unique training programme and reputation as one of the world’s leading masters in Wing Chun Kung Fu.
The original course was revised in 1995, becoming the Certificates I to IV in Wing Chun Instruction. In 2003, the Australian sports industry recognised the need for qualified martial arts instructors and martial arts were introduced into the SRS03 Sport Training Package.
The present full-time courses offered by the Academy, Certificates II, III and IV in Sport Coaching (specialising in Wing Chun Kung Fu) are drawn from the National Sport Training Package and designed to cater for both new entrants and experienced martial artists.
By training at the Academy, students can learn how to set themselves up for life in healthy, rewarding careers with qualifications which can be used anywhere in the world.
Australian students of the Academy’s full-time courses are eligible to apply for the AUSTUDY allowance. Those from overseas may apply for student and part-time work visas.
